Strength. Technique. Control.
What is kickboxing?
Kickboxing is a martial art that combines boxing punches with dynamic kicking techniques. At ARTES Sportakademie in Kriens near Lucerne, you learn these techniques in a structured, step by step way.
Training covers punches, kicks, defense, footwork, and distance control. Kickboxing demands more than strength alone. Timing, coordination, reaction speed, and controlled movement are just as important.
At the same time, kickboxing is an effective full-body workout that helps you build endurance, mobility, and core strength.
Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Thai boxing: What is the difference?
Kickboxing and Muay Thai have many similarities, but they are not the same martial art. Muay Thai is also commonly called Thai boxing.
Both martial arts combine punches and kicks. Muay Thai typically also includes knee techniques, elbow techniques, and clinch work. In kickboxing, permitted techniques vary depending on the style and ruleset.
At ARTES in Kriens, this page focuses on kickboxing. Muay Thai and Thai boxing are related martial arts whose techniques and training principles partly overlap with kickboxing.
